Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival
Welcome to Luang Prabang, you will be collected by our local guide at Luang Prabang Airport and transfer to hotel for check-in. The room is at your disposal from 14.00 onwards. Balance of the day as your leisure. Meals on y our own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Luang Prabang City Tour – Kuang Si Waterfalls (B)
Start the day with a visit to the morning market, a perfect place to indulge in the local flavor, dine on Laos food, and watch the daily life of the people.
After that, take a scenic drive to visit Vat Xieng Thong or well-known as the Temple of the Royal City – one of the most important of Lao monasteries remaining as a significant monument to the spirit of religion, royalty and Laos traditional art.
Next up, we head to Kuang Si Falls – a mesmerizing turquoise waterfall. En route, you will grab the image of beautiful rice fields and small villages dotted along the country road. Stop at some of the villages for a short visit before relaxing at the waterfall.
In the afternoon, drive back Luang Prabang and visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre situated in a historical building preserved by UNESCO. Here you will have a chance to observe the exhibition which consists of traditional clothing, religious artifacts and daily working tools of Lao minorities that provides you more insight into their lifestyle and traditions.
Before sunset, make your way up to the Phousi Mountain where you have a nice panorama of the city in the beguiling sunset time.
Later on, on the way back to the hotel, we will stop to visit the H’ mong Night Market. You will find a lot of interesting souvenirs in the traditional style of Laos. This market is also a paradise for street food lovers, and you can have dinner on your own. Our guide will suggest a good place for you to enjoy Laos traditional food or hot pot at a nice restaurant on the riverside. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Pak Ou Caves – Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast at the hotel, our tuk-tuk driver will pick you up at 9:30 am at your hotel this morning to transfer to the boat jetty.
Embark on the Nava Mekong which is a traditional riverboat to cruise on the mighty Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves. Sit back and enjoy the dramatic and peaceful scenery as well as see the simple lives of rural people who live along the riverside.
During a 2-hour cruise upstream to the Pak Ou Caves, stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai for a short excursion to get a glimpse at the village scenery.
Once you reach Pak Ou Caves – the caves are very close to the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers. In these 2 caves, take the chance to admire numerous ancient Buddha images dating back to centuries ago. The caves serve as the most important religious site in Laos for pilgrimages during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April.
On the way back, you will be served with a selection of typical Lao dishes onboard.
The cruise will take about 1.5 hours to turn back Luang Prabang, and arrive around 1400. We will pick you up at the boat jetty and transfer you back to your hotel.
After that, our driver will transfer you to the airport to take an international flight to Hanoi.
On arrival at Hanoi, you will be warmly welcomed by our Vietnamese local tour guide and driver then transfer to the hotel in the city center to check-in. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Hanoi City Tour – Bat Trang Village (B, L)
Xin Chao! Today is a full day for you to discover the charm of Hanoi. Start the day with a visit to Tran Quoc pagoda, a Buddhist relic and national heritage lying on the shore of West Lake. From here, head to Ho Chi Minh complex, the final resting place of Viet Nam’s greatest father. We will visit his house-on-stilt and One Pillar Pagoda – modeled after a lotus flower, a symbol of Hanoi.
Next up, stroll through the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam constructed in 1070 dedicated to Confucius, sages, and scholars.
After that, relax and have lunch at a local restaurant in Hanoi Old Quarter. In the afternoon, we take a 30-minute drive to explore the traditional Bat Trang ceramics village. As you return to Hanoi, visit Ngoc Son Temple dedicated to Tran Hung Dao – General Commander for his struggle against Mongolians. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Day Trip to Halong Bay (B, L)
This morning, leave Hanoi for a drive to Halong Bay – one of the greatest natural wonders of the world recognized by UNESCO. The 3.5-hour scenic drive delivers you a chance to enjoy the mesmerizing landscape of the Red River Delta, and a glimpse at the daily rural life of Vietnamese farmers with rice fields and water buffaloes.
On arrival at Halong Bay, you will embark on the most beautiful day with Halong Bay day cruise. After a short introductory talk by the tour guide, you will savor a wonderful local seafood lunch on board (Vegetarian food is available if requested). You will take a nearly 4-hour relaxing cruise and discover the spectacular scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage site with its thousands of dramatic limestone islets and mountains. The cruise will take you through emerald waters, passing by the Dog Stone, Burning Incense Islet and Fighting-Cock Islet, the famous symbol of Halong Bay.
After lunch, we stop at Ba Hang Fishing Village for you to take a kayak or bamboo boat rowed by the locals. This is one of the most highlighted activities in Halong Bay. Next up, we will visit the magnificent Thien Cung Cave, (Heavenly Palace Cave) to explore huge chambers adorned with stalactites and stalagmites at different shapes and sizes before returning to your cruise.
This afternoon, enjoy a tea break and sample some green bean cake, which is a local specialty in the northern provinces of Vietnam while watching an unforgettable sunset over the legendary Halong Bay.
Later on, get on the shuttle bus to return to Hanoi.
Have dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi.
Day 6: Hanoi Departure (B)
Today, you are free to relax at your hotel until being transferred to Noi Bai International airport (without tour guide) for your departure flight. Trip ends.
