Full Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon your arrival, you will be picked by your driver and guide at Hanoi Airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is your leisure. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 2: Hanoi Sightseeing Tour (B, L)
Today, meet your tour guide and start your journey in Hanoi at these following destinations:
Tran Quoc Pagoda: The Buddhist relic as well as national heritage on poetic West Lake.
Ho Chi Minh Complex: The resting place of the Vietnamese greatest president including his house on stilt, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Museum, and the Presidential Palace
Temple of Literature: The first national university in Vietnam was constructed in 1070 dedicating to Confucius, sages, and scholars
At noon, relax and enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant in Hanoi Old Quarter. In the afternoon, spend more time exploring:
Bat Trang Village – the traditional ceramics village with astonishing showrooms and a chance to see how local artisans model the products.
Ngoc Son Temple: This construction was dedicated to Tran Hung Dao – General Commander for his struggle against powerful Mongolians in the 13th century.
In the late afternoon, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Hanoi – Ninh Binh (B, L)
After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel then depart for Ninh Binh province. On arrival at Hoa Lu – the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th century. You will have a chance to visit the temples of two dynasties of Dinh and Le then learn about ancient cultures through an excavation of vestiges of Royal Palaces ground.
At noon, relax and enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant. Afterward, board a sampan boat in Tam Coc and visit along the river among local villages, majestic mountains, and immense rice fields. Next, discover 3 caves including Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba. In the late afternoon, the boat returns to the dock for a drive back to Hanoi. You will be dropped off at the hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)
After breakfast, travel to Halong Bay through beautiful paddy rice and mountains of the Red River Delta. From the harbor, embark on a cruise ship and begin your journey after lunch among a variety of limestone karsts on the emerald water. You can make a stop to visit a mysterious grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites.
Afterward, you can go swimming, kayaking, or a sampan trip to visit hidden corners of the bay. Return to the cruise ship before sunset. Meals will be served on the cruise. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast, enjoy your relaxing time to sunbathe on the sundeck or experience in the fascinating services at the cruise ship. After lunch on board, transfer back to Hanoi to check in the hotel. The rest of the day is your free time to explore Hanoi on your own, go shopping, and try local cuisine. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 6: Hanoi – Siem Reap (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for a short flight to Siem Reap. Upon your arrival at the airport, your driver and guide will meet and transfer you to the hotel for check-in and relax. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Siem Reap – Angkor Sightseeing (B, L)
In the morning, transfer to Angkor Thom which was built from 1177 to 1181 as the impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire. Then visit Bayon Temple offering you a great chance to observe ancient sculptures.
Next, continue to visit Terrace of the Leper King – the royal crematorium and the statue that is originally believed to be Yama, the god of death. Afterward, pay a visit to the Terrace of Elephants with 300 meters long through the core of Angkor Thom.
Then, visit Ta Prohm which has been abandoned to the elements, a reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history. Later journey to Angkor Wat – the largest temple complex in Cambodia as well as in the world. It is considered the architectural masterpiece thanks to its perfection in composition, proportions, balance, and sculpture. Back to the hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh (B)
In the morning, you will be picked up at the hotel to transfer to Siem Reap (6 hours of traveling). On arrival, you will meet your driver and guide then transfer to the hotel to check-in and recover from the long transportation. The remainder of the day will be free time to explore the Cambodian capital. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Phnom Penh City Tour (B, L)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and start your full-day journey by visiting to the most important attractions in Phnom Penh:
Wat Ounaloam Monastery – the oldest Buddhist pagoda which was built in 1443 and consists of 44 structures.
The Royal Palace – It was built by King Norodom in 1866 and is the complex of buildings including Silver Pagoda and Wat Phnom.
The Central Market (Psar Thmei) – The large market in the shape of a dome with four arms branching out into vast hallways with countless stalls of goods selling goods ranging from gold, silver, jewelry, antique coins, books, flowers, foods, fabrics, arts, shoes, souvenirs, seafood…
After lunch, continue to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). It used to be a high school then become a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge.
If time permitted, explore Phsar Toul Tom Phuong “Russian Market” then head out to the south to visit the notorious Killing Fields “Choeung Ek”. It is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of who first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime. Drop off at your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Phnom Penh – Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Today, your guide will come to take you to the bus station to get on the shuttle bus to Ho Chi Minh City (about 7 hours of traveling). Upon your arrival at the bus station in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in and recovery. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)
After breakfast, begin your exploration at the heart of South Vietnam:
Independence Palace (the Reunification Palace): This construction was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace and used as the headquarter of the puppet South Vietnam government before its end in 1975.
War Remnants Museum owns a vast display of the American-Vietnam War from images, documents, and artifacts such as tanks and helicopters…
Notre Dame Cathedral & The Central Post Office: the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times and Jade Emperor Pagoda with the peaceful atmosphere with many stories behind each detail of the pagoda.
After lunch, travel in about 1 hour and 30 minutes through the pleasant countryside to reach the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels – the historic site where Vietnamese soldiers used as a shelter during wartime stretching over 250 km. In the late afternoon, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (B, L)
Today, depart from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City for My Tho, the town lies on the left side of the Mekong River. On arrival, board a sampan and cruise down the river around the four beautiful islands called Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands. Stopover at Unicorn Island for a walk around the country lane to visit orchards of tropical fruits, to enjoy folk song music.
Then ride a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal for a visit to the family business, visit honey-bee farm, enjoy honey tea and coconut candy workshop. After lunch, cycle around Tan Thach village, meet the local villagers to experience daily life in the Mekong Delta. In the late afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B)
In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel to the airport for your departure flight. Your Vietnam and Cambodia tour package from India ends.
