Full Itinerary
Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival (D)
Welcome to Cambodia! Your local guide will meet you on your arrival in Siem Reap then transfer to your hotel for check-in, along the way your tour guide will describe Cambodia history or culture. After settling in, you will set out for an excursion the amazing and awe-inspiring temples of Angkor Wat where is surrounding by the manmade moat and has recorded as the UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will also enjoy a truly memorable sunset with a panorama view from Pre Rup temple.
Tonight you will be amazed by the Phare Cambodia Circus; a troupe of young Cambodians offering a spectacular and exciting blend of traditional and modern theatre, music, dance, acrobatics, juggling and contortion beautifully choreographed and performed as a story about Cambodian life and society. Day 2: Siem Reap – Angkor Complex (B, L)
After breakfast at the hotel, explore Angkor Thom by walking on the rampart from the South Gate to see Prasat Chrong and stop at the Death Gate for some fruits and snacks before seeing the main temple of Bayon. There are some small temples nearby you will visit such as Baphuon temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Then visit a jungle temple overgrown by balsa wood trees and vines, this is a well-known, Ta Prohm Temple with its air of mystery.
After lunch and a short nap, start your afternoon tour at Banteay Srei temple – known as the ‘Women’s Temple’, and is associated with the supposed training of female soldiers to fight against the enemy. It is fairly unique in that it is constructed of beautiful pink sandstone and decorated with intricate stone carvings. On the return way, visit the Cambodia Landmine Museum, which has collected thousands of landmines is impressive. What is even more impressive is the story of the one Khmer man, Mr. Aki Ra, who disarmed the majority of these landmines alone.
If time permits, explore the ruin of Preah Khan is sitting in the middle of the jungle; entering from the eastern entrance walking along the causeway listening to the sound of bird and gibbons offering you a pleasant time. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 3: Siem Reap – Floating Village – Sihanoukville (B, L)
After breakfast, you will drive down south-east to see the great annual flood of Tonle Sap Lake, you’ll take a boat excursion to see the village of Kompong Phhluk on stilts. Explore this great ecosystem by way of canoeing and hear the calls of the birds or macaque monkeys while observing the forest beneath the lake’s surface, you’ll see the Buddhist temple is standing on the island with some beautiful Buddhist life painting on the ceiling. You also will visit the wet market “Phsa Leu” where locals sell their fish, meats, and vegetable as well as enjoy the Ox-cart fun riding through the village.
Return to hotel for checking out (12:00 mid-day) then transfer to the airport for your flight to Sihanoukville. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your English speaking driver for transfer to your hotel for check-in; you will be free to swim at the lovely beach or relax at the hotel. Day 4: Sihanoukville Free day (B)
Having a nice breakfast at your hotel, you will be free to swim or organize your daily exclusion on your own. Overnight in Sihanoukville
Day 5: Sihanoukville – Phnom Penh (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, leave Sihanoukville for departure to Phnom Penh with a private vehicle with 3.5 hours journey passing cardamom mountain range. Upon arriving at your hotel will proceed to check-in and your English speaking guide is ready to introduce you to visit the capital city of Cambodia. It begins to visit Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, The Royal Palace contains some spectacular buildings such as the Throne Hall, the Royal Treasury Hall, and the Napoleon II villa. Silver Pagoda (Pagoda of Emerald Buddha), steps are crafted from Italian marble, and within the throne room, the regal floor consists of more than 500 solid silver blocks it weighs about six tonnes. The currently king’s residence is living in a separate hall.
Continue to see Toul Sleng Museum (S21) turned from school to be the extermination center. If time permits, you will have a chance to stop shopping gift for family and friends at the famous Russian Market. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 6: Phnom Penh – Vientiane – City Tour
After breakfast, you will be free to relax until your airport transfer appointment for your departure flight to Vientiane – Laos. Picked up at the Wattay International Airport (Vientiane International Airport), you will be greeted and transferred to the local hotel. Vientiane is known as a charming and fascinating capital mixed of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, and American to make a special Vientiane as now.
After a short break, start to visit the major sights of the capital, one of them including the Wat Sisaket, the temple has thousands of miniature Buddha statues. In the trip to go to the Lao’s national precious heritage, That Luang Stupa is the most famous and the scared structure of Vientiane as well as Laos. You also have the chance to take pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 7: Vientiane Sightseeing – Budha Park (B)
After an early breakfast, you have the chance to dive out of town along the Mekong River to the extraordinary Buddha Park. In the afternoon, go stroll along the banks of the Mekong and enjoy the peaceful moment to catch the sunset, what is more than you have time to see the sunset and have dinner in one of the riverside cafés with some weird dishes like deep-fried crickets. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 8: Morning Market – Lao National Museum – Departure (B)
After breakfast, spend the morning in the Lao National Museum, displaying an interesting mixture of revolutionary and contemporary exhibits, and also visit Morning Market for a range of colorful textiles including silk, wall hangings, and other decorations. When the trip is over, you will be transferred to Wattay International Airport for the flight back home. Your trip with Go Indochina Tours ends.
